BAYC DJ is Coming, Yes I Mean It
One of the most important, and often underutilized aspects of any project is the ownership of the intellectual property. The boundaries are limitless for what can be achieved by leveraging the IP of our NFTs. The Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) allows for many different creative outlets for their product. The Red Ape Family is creating an animated comedy series, Jenkins the Valet is writing a novel and now we have ESCAPΞPLAN which is coined as the first-ever Bored Ape producer/DJ duo.

That’s not to say there aren’t other musicians that operate within the NFT space, Spottie, Grammy Nominated Richard Vagnar, and others but ESCAPΞPLAN will be an entire musical act leveraging the IP from BAYC #4321 and #309. This dynamic ape duo is being brought to life by Big Night Talent which is one arm of Big Night which owns a series of venues and restaurants in the greater Boston area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a business in an industry that has truly suffered during the global pandemic to join in on the growing trend of NFTs. RandyGreenstein who is one of the owners of Big Night, has clearly kept his ear to the ground and has OpenSea activity at least back to the summer and has some fan favorites in his wallet like Divine Order of the Zodiac, DeadFellaz, and Chain Runners.
One of the best parts of the blockchain is that you can tell based on a person’s history if they just aped in for the clout, or if they’ve really existed with us in the space and understand what it means to be part of the NFT community.
Big Night Talent has gone so far as to begin to craft backstory for their two apes, ETHan and ZeETH who grew up in the snow-covered mountains of India and learned about electronic music through YouTube tutorials. They dedicated themselves to their craft and were ready to explore the world and tackle new adventures together which was the birth of ESCAPΞPLAN.
That being said, a BAYC musical duo could be an outrageously fun event to attend. The BAYC has supporters such as Steve Aoki and Marshmello, so blending the brand into the electronic dance music genre is a no brainer. The BAYC members themselves like to party as we saw during NFT NYC, between the warehouse and the yacht party apes were swarming around NYC.
As of right now, it does not appear that ESCAPΞPLAN has any shows scheduled, but I’d have to imagine the first few are in the works and will be coming to one of Big Nights Boston venues soon. This is an amazing crossover for a company taking a risk on the NFT community and will also help introduce some of those outside the community into what NFTs can do for brand engagement. I think Big Night could be laying the groundwork for future brand partnerships and proving that being authentic in the space can pay off big time for your organization.
