Danny Ukes Generative Avatar NFT Power Rankings Week #3
Wow I skip one week and look what happens. Last week I didn’t make a list because I had my own pfp drop going on (@WillowKings) and though it didn’t sell out, I do feel the need to shill it a little just because it will bring additional utility to all 20 projects on this list when our roadmap starts to advance.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you can acknowledge that the past 2 weeks have been pretty crazy. With CryptoPunks leading the charge, it seems that just about every project saw a bump in value over the past 14 days or so. Even lower tier projects are starting to see eth offers popping up on opensea.
We do a lot of joking around on Twitter, but realistically it should be acknowledged that this is a good selling opportunity. As usual, this article/what I say don’t constitute financial advice, however, for transparency, I am actively securing bags before the next bear market hits. Or the next phase of the bull market, whatever comes first! Who knows really, I know I don’t! Now here’s the good stuff.
Apes are still king. The floor has reached the point many would describe as “unreachable” (considering the Punks floor was looking very similar less than a couple months ago). Not much has to be said, we all know what’s good
2. Cool Cats
It’s crazy how something so cute can get people so worked up. No doubt in my mind Cool Cats belong to be at #2. I’m sure a lot of people want to argue in favor of the Gutter Cats, but the reality is that they’re not doing things for the broader NFT community like Cool Cats. Between community contests, giveaways, and the upcoming Paper Cats project as well as CC Gen 2, there’s just way too much evidence saying Cool Cats are the move, even at their expensive new price point above 1.2eth.
3. Gutter Cats/Rats
The thing about Gutter Cats is that if they’re really as elite as everyone says, the floor should be 5eth by now. Not a joke. 1/3 the supply of the other projects, and about 1/2 the owners. Gutter Cats are cool and all, but I even dropped the Rats from the list because as a standalone project, they just don’t offer enough. Call me crazy for this one, but I stand by it. This project (though making great strides with the Gutter DAO and Sandbox plans) still has stuff to prove to me, but we’ll keep them in top 3 because realistically that is where they belong until another project can step up their game. .
4. Sewer Rats
Call me a shill, I genuinely don’t care. I spoke with Boris from Sewer Rats this past week and I’ve never been more confident in a pfp project. The thing about the Sewer Rats is that they’re delivering on stuff that their competitors can’t even dream of doing. How many generative projects have their own marketplace with their own currency where club members can buy and sell their NFTs? The answer is none. I don’t know of a single other project available today where this is the case. Floor jumped from .05 to .075 this morning, .1 is inevitable. Don’t get me started on earning Chiz/ it’s price either. Keep sleeping.
These are dope, they were on my radar for months, and I got gassed out even though it still would’ve been easy profits. Spain without the “S”, let’s move on.
6. The Doge Pound
I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know how the floor for these is above 1 eth. Pretty sure I heard something about WSB (reddit.com/r/wallstreetbets &r/WSB) getting involved. If that’s the case it may be a pump and dump scenario, but for the time being it seems like growth has been organic. I don’t see very many Doge Pound PFPs, however.
7. World of Women
Kinda brutal how the Fame Lady Squad was like the signature “all women’s team” and there was a decent amount of hype. Then the World of Women team came through and stole all of our hearts. Hate to compare the two but it’s kind of inevitable. Still holding both and excited for the future of both, but I think it’s clear World of Women is stealing the show.
8. Pudgy Penguins
Minted 10 of these 1. Because I love Penguins, and 2. Because Cole’s my boy and I like supporting people who support me. Didn’t really expect them to snap but here we are with a floor go .2+. Sometimes it’s worth it to just buy, hold, and wait for the time to strike. A little tip, sometimes the ones that sellout quickly are only good for that. The real value projects find success in time. Invest in teams,
The Forge came out today!! Very exciting stuff for the team. As far as I know, this is the first NFT project that implements their combining of NFTs feature, and I can’t wait to see how the collection progresses as a result!
10. Wicked Craniums
Craniums are kind of all over the place not gonna lie! I still really like this project and the potential they have as a community, but now that the horse airdrops came out, we’re left waiting for the next exciting part of the process! Watching prices go up and down is definitely interesting though! I’m down to my last Cranium after selling most at a solid price. I always say I’m a HUGE fan of having my cake and eating it too, here’s a great example of that!
11. Bulls on the Block
Bulls are growing on me just a little! I continually turn down .2eth offers on Opensea day after day and I’m still seeing a bunch of Bull avatars on twitter. Discord is always active and the unique owners have been slowly creeping up. I do think there’s potential for this one to crack the top 10 again once the roadmap starts fleshing out a little more.
12. Untamed Elephants
Elephants are also on the come up! I see the floor going up and, similar to the Bulls, I still am seeing a lot of activity from elephants on Twitter! Overall I think their roadmap is slightly underwhelming, but everything they’ve done up to this point with donations is enough for me to say they honestly deserve this spot on the list. Good on the Elephants!
Similar to Vogu’s, I was super excited about this project for months. It’s been on my radar for so long and then finally it comes out when I’m out camping in the wilderness. Sellout happened pretty much immediately as I figured it would and now I don’t want to pay .2eth for one though I know it’ll probably be worth it. Ugh, to Opensea we go.
14. Pixel Glyphs
Definitely a “wildcard” compared to other Avatar projects (if you can even call it an avatar), but I think they belong on this list as I see many people rocking them as avatars on twitter. The potential of this project lies in the capabilities it serves to offer. I’ve heard people refer to their Pixel Glyph as their NFT wallets “Coat of Arms”, and I really like that concept. I think this project will have a big second push in the coming weeks/months as the utility becomes available.
15. Barn Owlz
I like the Barn Owlz a lot. Recently I made the comparison that the Gutter Cat Gang is to the Bored Apes, as Barn Owlz are to Cool Cats. With that being said, the floor has been steadily rising the past week or so and I won’t be surprised if these get a big pump to upwards of .5 or higher before the start of September.
16. Nice Dripz
These are dope, my one regret is not minting my own. I feel bad because these were put on my radar before the drop and I thought they were cool but opted out because I wasn’t sure if they’d sell out. Let that be a lesson to everyone still reading, if you like something? That’s enough to justify you minting it. When all we do is seek profit, we forfeit pleasure. THe reality is that this space should be fun and we should buy things that we enjoy, not just things that make us money.
Lots of people continue to be excited about VOIDs and though they’re not my favorite project, I will give it to them that they’re doing a good job of delivering. This project does stand out as it is the only 3D avatar on the list. Depending on how the next couple weeks shake out, we may see them get removed from the list all together as they’re “unique” compared to others and maybe shouldn’t be on a list with them. Then again I included the Pixel Glyphs, so what the hell?
18. Alien Boys
Alien Boys will be off this list next week if they don’t make a move. #AlienBoySummer is over if you ask me.
19. Mad Cat Militia
I just really want to see this project do well. I think it has so much potential and once the War Games start coming out we’ll see the magic start to happen. Or at least I hope so! I think what’s interesting is the number of people excited about this project that realize it’s a slowburn. Give them their time, I can only assume the past 2 months have been spent building!
20. Lonely Alien Space Club
Recently bought into this project and though they’re at the bottom of this week’s list, I think they have a lot of room to grow! Also, I think it’s safe to say this is my favorite alien project. VOIDs are weird and Alien Boy’s are headstrong. This project falls somewhere in the middle and seems like a safe team to follow. Also, they’re airdropping spaceships to all holders, so that’s awesome!
Thanks for reading everyone 🙂 Sorry for the light FUD that went on on twitter with the Gutter Cats before this article came out. I will say that I appreciate everyone in the space and that every project (that isn’t a rug) has value, especially the ones I consider top 3. I’d also like to say that I was met with a LOT of passion from the Gutter Cats and I value that a lot. Sometimes I come out with some hot takes, but the bottom line is that these things are just my opinion and they really don’t matter! I could’ve put the Camels at the top of the lost and found a way to justify it ya know? Take this stuff with a grain of salt. It’s all fun, we’re all gonna make it, there’s no bad blood from me towards anyone. Even Beanie and I follow each other again! Too much negativity in the world to bring it into our space, let’s all support everyone else. That doesn’t mean we can’t rib a little though! Until next week everyone. Or maybe two weeks idk I’m on vacation we’ll see how the week goes. Thanks and bye!
