Monday
Iggy’s $MOTHER Party Controversy + Pacmoon’s Founders Call it Quits
The week kicked off with discussions about Army (formerly Pacmoon) turning to a community takeover to save their memecoin, and Iggy Azalea’s controversial party at Breakpoint Solana in Singapore. The party, which involved exotic dancers and trading $MOTHER for dollar bills, drew polarizing responses on social media. Cap believes that while there’s nothing inherently wrong with the party itself, the content is a bad look for crypto. Steve, however, saw it more as jokes rather than a serious issue.
For our Made by ApeCoin Monday segment, we welcomed Rida, who shared his journey into crypto and BAYC. Rida discussed his upcoming UGC platform for BAYC assets, which will allow users to create and share content using their Apes dressed in various branded merchandise. This innovative approach could open up new possibilities for content creation and brand promotion within the BAYC ecosystem.

Judges Scold SEC + Keystone Foundation’s Vision for Web3 Gaming
Judges are increasingly critical of the SEC’s lack of clarity on crypto regulations, potentially signaling a tipping point in the regulatory landscape. This criticism seems to be benefiting companies like Coinbase in their legal battles with the SEC.
Later, we were joined by a member of the Keystone Foundation to discuss their vision for the future of gaming ecosystems. The Keystone protocol aims to provide tools and capital for game studios to develop AAA experiences for web3 communities. Their innovative node network functions like an affiliate system, sharing revenue among players, creators, and curators across the Keystone ecosystem.

ApeCoin DAO in Crisis: Resignation, Accountability, and the Future of Decentralized Governance
The ApeCoin DAO faced significant internal struggles this week, highlighted by the resignation of Bojangles from his secretary role. Bojangles cited issues with the current pay structure, inactive stewards, and poor communication within the DAO. This sparked a broader conversation about the purpose and effectiveness of the DAO.
Cap expressed frustration with the situation, but appreciated that someone from within the DAO was finally calling out these issues. Both Steve and Cap suggested implementing KPIs to improve accountability. The discussion emphasized the need to revisit the fundamental question: “What is the purpose of the DAO?” Once the DAO finds that, I think it’ll be able to refocus.

Memecoins Heating Up, TruSTUB’s Fan Empowerment, and Pudgys Sponsor a Soccer Club
Cap proposed that memecoins might be this cycle’s equivalent of NFTs, given their current popularity. He’s considering getting back into memecoin trading, recognizing the opportunities but also acknowledging the high risks involved.
Caruso joined us to discuss TruSTUB, an innovative platform aiming to transform fan engagement at concerts and events. TruSTUB combines the concept of a fan club with a gamified loyalty program, offering rewards and VIP experiences to dedicated fans.
Lastly, we touched on Pudgy Penguins’ partnership with CD Castellón soccer club. While an interesting experiment in sports sponsorship, Cap and Steve questioned the relatively high price point for the NFT offering, noting there’s no apparent revenue share for holders.
