This week of Coffee with Captain shall forever be deemed “The Everything Token” week, as we got to support Steve and Scott’s launch of their book. This isn’t just a book about NFTs, it’s an important resource for those of us trying to onboard our web2 friends and family into web3. Also, we see Solana continuing to heat up. Rubbers, a generative AI art collection, took Solana by storm with a 100x. Pop Punk hops on the show later in the week to talk about it. We also caught up with Killabears to hear about the amazing content and product they’re producing.
In case you missed any of the shows, below is a small recap of each day with links to the podcast on Apple and Spotify. Links to other streaming platforms can be found on our buzzsprout page. Check out the timestamp if you want to catch the specific interviews.
Monday
Doodles & Cool Cats & Punks, Oh My!
Doodles, Cool Cats and Punks saw some interesting volume in the week. General excitement within web3 is starting to return and those projects working in the bear have seen a benefit. Even as crypto becomes more comfortably mainstream, a significant amount of people have yet to play around with NFTs. The Bitcoin ETF was only the beginning, but what is the next progression? How do we communicate the potential of web3 brands to people we encounter IRL? Next generation character and storytelling branding is one potential way to do this. The Coffee Crew dives into this topic and more.

Tuesday
The Everything Token Book Launch!
Tuesday was the official launch of Steve & Scott’s book and boy did the web3 family show out! We welcomed Scott Kominers on the show to dive into his story a little more. How does Scott, a Harvard Business School Professor & a16z researcher, get involved in the world of web3? NFTs are an entirely different way of doing digital brand building, which sparked the curiosity of a top tier business school.
If you haven’t yet, then be sure to pick up a copy of The Everything Token on Amazon! You may also find them at your local Barnes & Nobles or other bookstores. Help support Steve and Scott in educating the people about the world of web3.

Wednesday
The Everything Token Review, Magic Eden vs OpenSea & Anti-Stoics Mint
The Coffee Crew recaps the launch of Steve’s book on Tuesday and the reviews have been great. Especially the audiobook version where Steve and Scott got to do the reading. All in all, it’s very apparent that The Everything Token is an important resource for new entrants to learn about NFTs. This is the bridge for people within the space to onboard their friends from web2.
We also touched on Gabe’s Anti-Stoics mint on Thursday, a weekly community collaborative project. We also examine the continual fall of OpenSea. Magic Eden has arisen as one of the top challengers. Magic Eden is trying to collaborate with both the creator and collector, which the people are loving.. Will OpenSea be pressed into extreme action or will they keep down the same track?

Thursday
Market Patience & Generative Art
The mint of Wednesday night was Rubber, a generative AI art collection on Solana. There wasn’t a ton of hype behind the project as it minted slowly, but the art lovers couldn’t get enough as the floor hit a 100x from mint price. The Coffee Crew gives their thoughts on the different forms of generative art and how to examine each.
Missing out on the mint and reflecting on failed bids, Cap questions if patience really is a virtue. What are the strategies and psychology in making weth offers and bids for NFT collections. Sprinkled in the show was a small OnChainMonkey update from Amanda Terry.

Friday
Killabears: The Next Generation of Digital Entertainment
Friday morning started off with Pop Punk joining the show to talk about the hottest generative art project on Solana, Rubbers. We dive into his background, his inspiration for the collection and what made him choose the Solana chain.
We double dipped on guests, as we were joined by Ben Cohen, CEO & Cofounder of Killabears. This team has been doing some amazing work in the background. We hear about the long term vision of Killabears and exciting new developments for this entertainment company. They have a lot of touch points and products they’re using to slowly penetrate the mainstream market. Check out their latest short film and some behind the scenes footage!
