Now that we got that out of the way, has @Goblintown.wtf (GT) ushered in a new era of FREE MINTs? In less than 2 weeks, what seemed to be a joke of a free mint world has taken the NFT landscape by storm. As of the time I am writing this at 1:20 PM on June 1st, there is an 8 ETH FLOOR. Yes, higher than Cool Cats, Bored Ape Kennel Club and two other successful free mints OnchainMonkey and NFT Worlds. GT with no discord, no road map, no doxed team is blowing away the market and already featured on CNET.
The question is how did we get here? The only simple, yet plausible answer is community. Somehow, with an AMA that was a bunch of GT holders growling and making goblin noises for hours, the project blew up. Add in a huge dash of guerilla marketing on twitter with tweets such as this below and you got yourself a recipe for a project explosion.
This @opensea activity chart over the last 11 days gives you an idea of how fast things moved for GT.
They jumped faster than Nic Cage boosting a car in Gone in 60 Seconds!
We have no idea how much higher it will go, we have no idea why its going, but what we do know is that just like other projects that have pumped, GT has a massive community behind it who are changing their PFP’s and growling like goblins. FOMO is real with this author but once again, he is excited for everyone enjoying the ride.
