Your mission, should you choose to accept it…is to investigate the Koala Intelligence Agency. The KIA has burst onto the NFT scene the last week and we need you to find out what all the buzz about the Wallas is about.

A total of 10,000 unique fully trained Koalas entered the wild last week as community members recruited them for a mint price of .05 eth each, the drop quickly sold out and in the next day leading up to reveal the floor grew to around .1 eth with the buzz continuing to build among the community. A lot of first-time minters were attracted to this project, including a large base from the land down under.

While the KIA team was elated over the quick sell-out, they weren’t resting – in fact they doubled down their efforts to help mitigate flippers dumping post reveal and sending the floor spiraling.

I had the opportunity to speak with Lakoz, a director on the team, during the time between drop and revel and it was clear the team wasn’t resting on the success of the drop sellout.

That might have been the only thing the team got wrong over the last week, as prices certainly did not dip post-reveal. Almost instantly post-reveal prices took off sending the floor to nearly 1 ETH! The art by Thaaksi is incredible – people LOVE the Koalas!

Excited about the rapid growth, I had to check back in with Lakoz and find out what he got wrong regarding the market post-reveal.

“I think there were a few factors involved.

1st: The work put in by the team pre-reveal. We focused on building a diverse and engaging community.  We had a few tactics in place to create great momentum post-reveal and I think they worked well. My entire newsfeed was full of Koala pfps and I think that caught the attention of many other collectors.

2nd: The art! Thaaksi did an incredible job with these Koalas. The aesthetics, the traits, the combinations that came out, everything. I think people really fell in love with them.

3rd: I can’t really tell you why or when exactly, but at some point, the project just clicked with the community and that’s when things took off. I think part of it is tied to the incredible community that we built around it. I do want to give a shout out to our Aussi friends, I think they have been some of our biggest supporters.”

For as great as the art is and as vibrant as the community has become, it doesn’t stop there. The project is just getting started and Lakoz, J3, Thaaksi, Momo and team have big plans!
